Looked at the pictures on my phone the other day, and boy did that jog some memories. Some really good ones. And some pretty weird ones. I remembered walking back home with Maylou out on the Sunset Strip. We'd closed down the Saddle Ranch which is her favorite place I think. Reminds her of home, I guess.
Anywho, from out of nowhere, a guy in a white van asked us about chicken 'n' waffles. Where to get 'em, I mean. He had glasses and a scruffy beard, and I remembered what Grampa told me about sickos and their affinity towards vans, them being the best vehicle for killings and whatnot. And it being white is also important since it symbolizes purity and helps lure your prey in. Or so Gramps tell me.
Well, I wanted to walk away from there, but when he mentioned chicken and waffles, I think my head exploded in the culinary memory of Southern cooking at its finest. Maylou, she ain't never really understood what's so good about it. Weird, I know, then again she's from Texas. Anywho, we started talking with this guy and before you know it, me and Maylou are in the van heading to a hotel. But don't worry! It turns out he, and the rest of the guys in the van, were in a band. And they just played at the Whisky a Go Go! Before we knew it, we were at this dinky hotel on Beverly Blvd.
So me and Maylou end up drinking a whole lot of Vodka Cranberries. Well, I didn't partake myself, but since it's Maylou's favorite drink, she had quite a few. Then it all got kinda a blurry. I did find a shot of me and a very angry looking Korean guy in a white suit and name tag that read S. Kim. I think he might have been the manager trying kick us out. Then there is one of me picking up an empty beer can with a huge grin. Then one of Mr. Kim outside the window, screaming and holding the back of his head. Then I'm in the car with Maylou, Rosalyn and Forrest. That's Forrest the guy, who write songs and sings in the band. Sort of our band called the Goob Crew. Not sure how that came about.

Anyway, Forrest was a great guy and we got to talking. That's me and Forrest in picture above, btw. We both being song writer and singers, we figured it might be cool to do a collaboration some day. Wouldn't that be something!
Oh, and Forrest Day the band, well I reckon they are about the best thing I've heard in a long time. I don't know how to describe them, other than very good. Pete said he was gonna put the guns on me if I play the song About Time one more time. But it’s just so darn good! Here's their site: http://www.forrestday.com. Seems everybody's on the Internet these days, go figure.
Feel the free everybody!!
