About

In 2008, Dwayne 'The Goob' Gunderson left his family's peanut farm located just outside of New Brockton, Alabama, and headed for Hollywood. With aspirations of Silver Screen fame, he went against his family's wishes and hit the road. What was supposed to be a four-day Greyhound trip became a two-month adventure on the road.

The Goob chronicled his progress one his blog and by recording videos of himself using his phone. During the trek, he recorded 25 videos of himself. These videos, together with an assortment of mobile content, were released in Europe by Sony Ericsson on their portal "Fun & Downloads. A the end of the first year, The Goob had over 5 million downloads.

During his journey, he occasionally played some music on his guitar – The Goob can rock the axe like no other! – and the audience responded to this, demanding more music. Towards the end of the journey, as he neared Hollywood, The Goob had crafted his first song, named after his personal motto "Feel the Free". He did a music video and released it on the web.

EMI had been following The Goob and off the single's release, they contacted him and offered him a deal. In late 2009, The Goob signed with EMI and has to date released two singles/videos. A third single and music video is waiting in the wings and set to be released a week before X-Mas

In 2009, Strike.TV in the US contacted him as well, offering to digitally distribute him in his home country. After becoming one of their top-rated shows, The Goob received a nomination at the 2010 Streamy Awards. In April, the Alabama native attended the ceremony and walked away with the win, and a shiny statue to boot, for “Best Animation in a Web Series". The Goob, and the friendly studio backing his every move, were delighted.

Strike.TV also sent Dwayne all the way up to Saginaw, Michigan, for a run on a Country Music Station where both he and his music appeared on-air, promoting his videos on the station's website.

Today, The Goob lives in Hollywood together with Pete "Two Guns" and his girlfriend Marylou Anne, both of whom he met on his journey. He  is also joined by his Grampa who felt it wise to come out and ensure his only grandson doesn't get all messed up by the evil forces in "Oh-la-la-land".
